Yam Lathe Wiring
I finally collected all the bits and pieces I needed to wire up the new to me Yam lathe. Its a 5 hp three phase circuit of around 20 amps. When I ran the conduit for the milling machine from the main electrical panel I anticipated whatever lathe I ended up with would be on that side of the shop. Stopping short of actually running the wire I pulled a string through the conduit with the mill circuit. Just my luck I had to add another two boxes to the conduit run for the new lathe. I didn't get to use the string but the conduit was already in place and just needed a slight modification. After looking at the machine wiring I decided to use a plug and receptacle instead of hard wiring it. I have a Deckel single lip cutter grinder that I wanted to be able to use without having to run a dedicated circuit just for the grinder.
Pretty close to pulling some wire. Double check now that I have done everything that I can with the power off. Also make sure your cordless drill is charged up at this point.
